최양업신부박물관 > 박물관

최양업 토마스 신부 박물관은 유물 전시관으로서의 박물관이 아니라 누구나 '보고 느끼고 기도할 수 있는 스토리텔링 체험관으로서의 박물관입니다.
현재의 최첨단 정보기술(Information Technology)을 이용하여 한국에서는 최초로 시도된 것입니다.
전체 주제는 최양업 토마스 신부님의 시복 시성을 기원하는 “만남과 동행"이고, 5개의 체험관과 1개의 기획 전시실, 1개의 시복 시성 기원관으로 구성되어 있습니다.
박물관의 외관은 최초의 조선대목구 신학생인 최양업이 동료 최방제(프란치스코 하비에르), 김대건 (안드레아)과 함께 유학했던 마카오의 조선대목구신학교(파리외방전교회 극동 대표부) 건물과 그 인근에 있는 성 안토니오 성당의 외관을 그대로 재현한 것입니다.
그리고 박물관 앞에 놓여있는 양업교는 마카오(박물관)와 조선(배티순교성지)을 이어주는 배를 상징하며, 그 아래를 흐르는 양백천 상류는 서해를 의미합니다.

 

 

 

Lobby 안내데스크
로비는 빛의 천국 광장으로 최양업 신부님과 한국 천주교회의 순교자들을 만나는 공간이다. 창밖으로 배티 골짜기의 아름다운 시계가 조망된다.
로비에 들어서면 순백의 천국 광장에 서 있는 느낌이 들고 왼쪽에는 최양업 신부의 슈퍼그래픽 라틴어 서한을 보여주는 벽이 있다. 이 서한(1860년 9월 3일자)은 경신박해를 피해 고립된 채 지내는 자신의 처지를 설명하면서 박해받는 교우들의 비참한 상황과 조선 사회의 교회에 대한 인식, 성무집행(1,622명 고해성사 집전, 어른 203명 세례성사 집전, 12명의 임종자에게 대세 줌, 예비자 398명 등록) 결과 등을 보고하고, 하느님의 자비를 구하는 간절한 염원을 전하였다. 그 앞에 높인 바위 모양의 의자는 최양업 신부의 땀을 상징한다.
Entering the museum lobby feels just as if you are stepping onto the pure white streets of heaven. The wall on the leftis covered with the enlarged words of a letter written in Latin by Fr. Choe. In the letter written on September 3rd, 1860, Choe explained how he had isolated himself to avoid the Gyeongshin Persecution. He described the terrible plight of the believ ers being persecuted and the attitude of Korean society toward the Catholics. He also reported the results of his priestly work (1.622 confessions heard 203 adults baptized, 12 private baptisms given to the dying, and 398 people registered to receive baptism and expressed his earnest desire to receive the mercy of God. 3관 사목활동체험
최양업 신부의 출생, 유학길, 귀국길, 사목 여정, 선종에 이르기까지 전 생애를 각종 유물들을 통해 알 수 있는 공간이다.

바닥에 연출된 황톳길, 자갈길, 물길 등과 당시의 건축물을 재현한 디오라마와 영상을 통해 힘든 여정을 체험 하도록 배려했다. 압록강을 건너 귀국(1849년 12월)한 후 쉬지 않고 사목활동을 시작하여 과로로 쓰러져 선종(1861 년 6월 15일)하기 까지 전국을 돌며 신자를 만나는 과정을 표현했다.
The dirt paths, gravel roads, and waterways on the floor and the dioramas and videos that depict the buildings of the time are provided to allow you to share in Fr. Choe's difficult journey. Here you can see how Fr. Choe traveled the country to meet the faithful. After crossing the Yalu River and returning to Korea in December 1849, Fr. Choe began his priestly work and continued without a break until he collapsed from exhaustion and passed away on June 15, 1861.

4관 최양업 신부 유물
최양업 신부의 놀라운 라틴어 서한 20점 및 다양한 저술과 한국 가톨릭 관련 유물이 전시된 공간이다.
In this room are displayed 20 letters that exhibit Fr. Choe's remarkable Latin ability, along with a variety of his other writings and other items related to Catholicism in Korea.
전국을 순회하며 사목활동을 하던 최양업 신부는 장마철 등을 활용해 사목에 필요한 책을 집필했는데 직접 지어 보급한 <천주가사> 와 최초의 한글 기도서 〈천주성교공과>와 한글 교리서 <성교요리문답〉 등 다양한 관련 자료들이 전시되어 있다. 특히 마카오에서 신 학생 공부만으로는 믿기 어려운 라틴어 실력으로 쓴 라틴어 서한 21점(유실 서한 포함)은 오늘날에도 놀라운 것이고 이를 통해 오늘 우리 가 최양업 신부를 만날 수 있으니 긴 세월을 건너 우리들에게 남긴 신앙의 유산이요. 보물이라 할 수 있다.
The heavy rains during the monsoon season prevented Fr. Choe from traveling the country ministering to the believers. Fr. Choe used this time to write the books that he needed to carry out his work. A variety of works written by Fr. Choe are on display here, including a collection of lyrical poems (Cheonjugasa), the first prayer book written in Hangul (Cheonjuseonggyogonggwa), and a catechism in Hangul(Seonggyoyorimundap). Fr. Choe's 21 Latin letters (one of which is missing) are a particularly surprising treasure and legacy of the faith that has been given to us, since they give us an intimate glimpse into the life of Fr. Choe even after so much time has passed. It is hard to believe that Fr. Choe could have acquired the Latin ability displayed in these letters during the time he spent studying in the seminary in Macao.

5관 멀티홀

땀의 순교자' 최양업 신부의 일대기를 담은 단편 영화 '탁덕 최양업'을 최양업 신부의 땀을 상징하는 의자에 앉아서 감상한다. 영화 '탁덕 최양업 (제작 화방, 주연 원기준, 연출 남진우, 극본 이선아, 이현주)은 조선시대 후기 박해 속에서도 신앙을 포기하지 않았던 선조 신앙인들의 믿음을 재조명하고, 전국 각지에 흩어져 있는 교우들을 위해 혼신을 다한 땀의 증거자, 최양업 신부의 삶을 통 해 현대인들에게 참다운 신앙의 의미를 되새겨보게 하는 종교 드라마이다.
As you sit in chairs that symbolize the sweat of Fr. Choe, watch the short film "Father Choe Yang-eop," which depicts the biography of the priest, the martyr of sweat. The movie "Father Choe Yang-eop" (produced by PBC, starring Won Gi-jun, directed by Nam Jin-u, script by Lee Seon-a and Lee Hyeon-ju) shines new light on the faith of the believers who did not give up their faith amid persecution at the end of the Joseon Dynasty. This religious drama uses the life of Fr. Choe, the martyr of sweat who gave his body and soul for the believers who were scattered throughout Korea, to remind people today of the meaning of true belief.

 

순례객들은 5관 관람을 마친 후 순교신앙을 상징하는 하얀 벽면에 걸린 천국의 계단을 따라 6관 기획전시실로 이동하게 된다.
After visitors are done with Hall 5, they can follow the Stairway to Heaven on the white wall (which symbolizes the faith of the martyrs) to the special photo exhibition in Hall 6.
